Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants needed in El Paso, Texas. Come join our highly successful and established group that offers clinical variety and growth opportunities!
Responsibilities
Broad case mix including but not limited to, orthopedics, spine, general and urology.
Work alongside anesthesiologists to administer anesthesia and monitor patients before, during and after surgery
Prepare equipment and medication for anesthesia administration
Assist in placing and managing invasive monitoring devices such as arterial lines, central lines and pulmonary artery catheters
Provide support in airway management, such as intubation and extubation
Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed
Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
Assist with patient transport and hand off to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU)
Qualifications
Certified Anesthesia Assistant (CAA) or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA).
Current certification with the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
An active and unencumbered CAA license in the state of employment
No flagged or under investigation licenses.
Skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain productivity and focus under challenging circumstances.
Proficiency in anesthesia equipment and medication administration.
Ability to adapt to different hospital environments and anesthesia protocols.
Education Requirements
Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field such as nursing, pre-med or biology.
Completion of an accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant program.
Master of Science in Anesthesiologist Assistant Studies.
