Job Summary:
We are a medical technology company seeking a Vice President, Finance who will help drive achievement of the Company’s strategic goals in the diabetes market, and provide management leadership to the team. Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President, Finance will play a key role in the long-term success of the Company. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in high-growth life science companies and leading in a role of diverse responsibilities. Our Vice President, Finance will be a proven leader with in-depth management experience and a passion for improving the lives of our customers.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Operations
Responsible for accounting operations and monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
Research and implement of new accounting guidance.
Engage in tax planning and ensure timely filing of all tax returns.
Develop budgets and forecasts, reflecting Company’s short- and long-term objectives.
Manage resources to support operations within budgeted guidelines.
Prepare company accounting and operations processes for initial public offering.
Implement and maintain risk management measures to address Company’s expanding operations.
Lead due diligence of potential acquisition targets.
Human Resources
Conduct recruiting, on-boarding and off-boarding activities.
Oversee Company payroll.
Evaluate, update and administer company benefit plans.
Manage employee immigration applications, including OPT, H-1B and PERM.
Update and implement Company policies, procedures and training as needed.
Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees.
Administration
Ensure security of physical and intangible assets.
Negotiate and review contracts.
Responsible for facilities planning and management.
Perform governmental and regulatory reporting as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
CPA or MBA desired.
15+ years of progressive experience, including leadership roles.
Extensive and broad knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles.
Experience with SEC reporting.
Highly proficient in use of ERP systems.
Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
Experience building high performance teams.
High ethical standards of conduct and business.
Strong work ethic and willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
Additional Information:
Varying amount of travel is required.
Physical requirements/Work Environment:
This position is located in Irvine, CA.
This position primarily works in an office. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. This position requires sitting for long periods of time in front of a computer display or other digital devices. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May require standing for extended periods when facilitating meetings, walking in the facilities. Varying amounts of travel are required so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
