About the Role
As an Azure Cloud Production Engineer, you will be a vital part of our SaaS software company, responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining robust cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure. This position is directly responsible for research triage, and software engineering aspects of the organization’s platform, while working with the infrastructure and development teams to ensure consistent availability of our platform. This position requires participation in the modification of software solution configuration and a broad understanding of technology implementations, software systems, networks, and troubleshooting.
What You’ll Be Doing
Cloud Solution Design and Deployment:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions on Azure.
- Ensure alignment with SaaS application requirements and industry best practices.
- Manage deployment of latest release and hotfixes to production.
Infrastructure Management:
- Set up and configure Azure resources, including app services, virtual machines, databases, storage, and networking components.
- Optimize resource utilization for ongoing operations.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data within the cloud environment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (such as HIPAA or GDPR) and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor resource usage, performance, and cost.
- Make necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and scalability.
- Develop automation scripts and use infrastructure as code (IaC) templates.
Connectivity:
- Configure and maintain connectivity between client integrations with the Azure cloud environment.
- Facilitate seamless data exchange and integration.
Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and resolution.
- Ensure timely response to production issues affecting SaaS applications.
Collaboration with Developers and Specialists:
- Work closely with developers and product specialists to integrate advanced analytics into Azure cloud solutions.
- Enhance data-driven decision-making processes for our SaaS offerings.
- Assists with special projects or other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience
- A bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or similar.
- 3-5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer) are advantageous.
- Proficiency in Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Blob Service, Azure Gateway, Azure Elastic Job Agent, Azure Batch Service, Azure AI Services and Azure DevOps.
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, ARM templates, Terraform) for automation.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Knowledge of networking concepts, load balancing, and security protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
- Ability to keep up with innovation in application design.
Where you'll be working
This is a hybrid full-time role based out of our Richardson, TX office. Monday-Thursday will be spent in-office and Friday is a work-from-home day.
