About the Role:
Job Title: Oracle Engineer II
Job Summary:
- The Centralized R&D Databases team at one of our banking client’s selects and configures operational database technologies, ensuring regulatory compliance, security, and high availability across data centers.
- The team defines best practices for database use on-premises and in cloud environments like AWS and GCP, evaluating new features for performance, scalability, and security.
- The role involves integrating and running relational and NoSQL databases, designing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and collaborating with various teams to operationalize database technologies for top-tier financial applications.
- Strong knowledge of DBMS concepts such as ACID & CAP, cloud database deployments, and troubleshooting is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluating and preparing new and upgraded Oracle and Oracle-compatible offerings for use across the company.
- Documenting, presenting, and explaining the appropriate techniques, patterns and best practices for our hosting, database administration and operational support teams.
Qualifications:
- Experience installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, deploying and running Oracle databases
- Solid knowledge of DBMS concepts such as ACID, CAP and consistency.
- Experience with enterprise-scale Oracle deployments, including intra- and inter-data-center high availability configurations, fault tolerance and failover, physical and logical replication, cluster management, automated provisioning, rolling upgrade techniques, backup & restoration techniques, security mechanisms, health monitoring and alerting techniques, and troubleshooting.
Location: Phoenix, AZ (3 days a week)
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $100,000 – $110,000 annually. Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
