Job Description:
The Product Service Engineer supports NPI Product Support & Quality Engineers through issue investigation of complex electronic hardware or software issues on engine systems, offboard electronics, or electrification.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: Hardware and software issue identification that would lead to incorrect service support from dealerships. Example would be did the software design team identify the correct fault codes for a dealer technician to properly troubleshoot. Identification and assist with designing a new service test to support specific failure modes on new products. Creation of correct troubleshooting procedures by working directly with design teams, developing content, and then working directly with authoring teams.
Overall, this job role will be working directly with multiple engineering teams to develop the best product support possible for when new products go to production.

- Support multiple service engineers to provide the best-in-class service support for new products being introduced.

Day to Day:
- Identify hardware & software issues that would lead to incorrect service support from dealers.
- Identify & assist with the design of a new service test to support specific failure modes on new products.
- Create correct troubleshooting procedures by working directly with design teams, developing content, & working directly with authoring teams.
Interaction with team:
- Heavy interaction with the team and other engineering teams on a daily basis.
Work environment:
- Office environment interacting with service engineers through in person, virtual and meetings.
Education & Experience Required:
Associates degree in Electronics or Gas/Diesel Engine Technology or similar program.
Years of Experience
- 2 yrs of experience with a bachelor’s in engineering
- 5 yrs of experience with an associate’s degree
- 7 yrs of experience with no degree
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Good understanding of engine or power systems electronics
- Troubleshooting electrical components within engines
- Ability to read and understand troubleshooting procedures
- MS Excel
