Position Overview:
As a Legal Analyst / Paralegal, you will be a member of the firm’s Legal and Compliance team. You will play an integral role in the firm’s day-to-day investment management activities, transaction matters, compliance matters and related legal projects. You will be responsible for providing legal and compliance support to various internal business teams and will report to the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer and work closely with the Associate General Counsel. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing and dynamic investment manager and the individual will contribute meaningfully to the implementation and improvement of various legal processes.
Work will take place onsite in the New York office.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with legal expense management, documentation management, corporate entity management, investment fund management, compliance processes and corporate entity management;
- Assist in negotiation and record keeping of investment-related agreements, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements and fund offering documents;
- Prepare agendas, resolutions, meeting minutes and other materials for board meetings and governance committee meetings;
- Assist with various regulatory filings;
- Respond to information requests in connection with Anti-Money-Laundering and Know-Your Client procedures;
- Assist in the general administration of the firm’s compliance program;
- Create and dissolve corporate entities and draft entity organizational documents;
- Monitor state and administrative licensing requirements and work with outside counsel to ensure compliance with such requirements; and
- Assist with ad hoc projects.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance;
- 1-3 years relevant work experience either in a paralegal or compliance role at a financial services company or at a law firm;
- Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong communication, presentation and analytical skills;
- Ability to effectively conduct legal research and analysis;
- Hard-working collaborative team player;
- Microsoft Word proficiency is required;
- Microsoft Excel proficiency is preferred; and
- High standard of professionalism in all dealings with internal staff and any external partners, clients and regulatory agencies.
Compensation:
Salary Range: between $80,000 and $120,000 and competitive benefits package.
