LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and develop our Clients Quality Assurance Department in Cranberry Twp, PA area. This role involves fostering communication to drive quality improvements and collaborating closely with the production team to ensure defect-free products. The QA Manager will also oversee all inspection and quality control procedures to maintain our high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and Enhance Quality Control: Develop and improve quality control standards, policies, and procedures across all company plants and facilities.
- Supervise QA Operations: Oversee the QA departments at all plant facilities and create departmental and company personnel plans related to quality assurance.
- Set and Manage Goals: Formulate and manage the development and implementation of company goals.
- Define Quality Procedures: Work with staff to define quality procedures and maintain Corporate NDT certifications.
- Develop QA Policies: Direct the creation and implementation of QA policies and procedures, including vendor checks.
- Inspect Materials and Goods: Oversee the inspection and quality control of all incoming raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
- Audit Quality Programs: Regularly visit each location to audit their quality programs and procedures.
- Monitor and Report: Track quality standards, deviations, and cost/value opportunities at all plant facilities.
- Corrective Actions: Recommend or take corrective actions based on situation analysis to maintain quality standards; oversee non-conformance and root cause analysis.
- Budget Management: Collaborate with QA departments to prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring adherence and addressing any budget issues promptly.
- Build Relationships: Foster positive relationships with team members, customers, and vendors.
- Establish Quality Measures: Contribute to establishing and maintaining quality measures at all locations, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Standard Work Input: Provide input on creating standard work within production to meet quality standards.
- Review Specifications: Review customer specifications for quality requirements and provide feedback to relevant departments.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in applied science or engineering.
- Certifications: CWI (Certified Weld Inspector) and NDT certifications to be completed within two years. ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor certification preferred.
- Experience: At least five years of experience managing a quality department and developing quality procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Relationship Building: Ability to develop strong relationships with direct reports and create a positive, engaging, and healthy work environment.
- Quality Evaluation: Proficient in conducting tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality performance.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel occasionally and work nights/weekends/on-call as needed.
- Technical Skills: Strong experience in steel fabrication processes and technologies.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills.
- Customer Relations: Excellent customer relations skills.
- Coaching Ability: Exemplary coaching skills for both production and QA team members.
- Performance Monitoring: Ability to monitor and assess performance to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Welding Experience: Experience working with welders and inspecting welds is preferred.
