About the Company:
The Risk Manager will lead the Credit Union's risk management efforts, collaborating across departments to facilitate the risk program. This includes monitoring and reporting key risk indicators (KRIs), managing risk projects, and overseeing the implementation of risk policies and strategies.
About the Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the risk strategic plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Create and monitor the Risk budget.
- Analyze and escalate risks within the Credit Union.
- Review and update risk policies and governance documents.
- Implement and manage key risk indicators and risk appetite statements.
- Oversee vendor management and collaborate with the Information Security team.
- Facilitate training and communication around risk management.
- Conduct research and analysis on business intelligence reporting.
- Assist in risk assessments for various projects and initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional meetings and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage the Corporate Insurance program and support compliance efforts.
- Prepare comprehensive risk reports for leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Maintain knowledge of compliance, regulations, and internal controls.
- Foster productive relationships with team members, departments, and vendors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including occasional travel.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Formal Education: Bachelor’s in Business required.
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in a credit union or bank required, with at least four (4) years in a risk-focused capacity, preferably in a bank or credit union.
- Other Requirements: Must be bondable; ERM/Risk Management or similar certification preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across the organization.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and financial integrity.
Pay range and compensation package:
The pay range for this position starts at $90,000 per year and can go up to $100,000 depending on experience.
