Dynamic Bay Area startup is seeking a Senior Electronic Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of hardware components for our positioning system. In this role, you will oversee digital, analog, RF, and power circuits, as well as manage test measurements, microcontrollers, low-current operations, batteries, mechanical design and assembly, manufacturing, field testing, PCB layout, schematic capture, and sustaining engineering. Contributions will involve collaborating closely with our team to guide products from concept through to field deployment, ensuring we meet and exceed customer expectations.
Most Important Responsibilities:
· Design Development: Bring up new designs, test PCBAs, program microcontrollers, and develop and operate Automated Test Equipment systems.
· Design Review: Evaluate designs, assist in board bring-up, and support the assembly and testing of devices and systems.
· System Analysis: Analyze and understand comprehensive system requirements.
· Component Specifications: Specify and select components, enclosures, antennas, cables, and other hardware, collaborating with team members and vendors.
· Testing and Certification: Conduct certifications, Design Verification Testing (DVT), and environmental and HALT testing.
· Data Collection and Reporting: Gather test data and product comprehensive, clear reports.
· Documentation Management: Create and maintain up-to-date system documentation
What you can bring to the table to impact this role, team, and organization:
· Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or higher
· Experience with data collection and documentation using Google Drive
· Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs
· Extensive experience with Altium (preferred) or similar GAD tools
· Professional experience troubleshooting, debugging, and repairing electronics down to the component level.
· Programming skills in Python and/or C programming languages and Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).
· Experience with soldering and board rework.
· Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoDesk, Cadence, SolidWorks, Allegro, or KiCAD.
