Job Description
- Perform work professionally and safely, report unsafe work practices
- Safely install, configure, test, calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and inspect electrical instrumentation as well as control system equipment on oil and gas units
- Inspect existing panes to ensure proper function and configuration
- Monitor pressure, flow, temperature controls, process limited controllers, and gas analysis equipment
- Use and understand the principles of operation of all meters and instruments used in applicable I&E work
- Work with drawings, sketches, specs, as built, and make new for proposed installations and completed projects
- Perform and document preventive maintenance inspections on electrical and control equipment in gas processing and compressor station facilities
- Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of sophisticated compliance analyzers, and can make programming changes as well as additions
- Interpret schematics to troubleshoot problems and perform database maintenance administration
- Install and adjust measuring and control devices, signal transmitters, meters and signal pickups
- Utilize Work Order database for maintenance activity
- Review, approve, and fill equipment requisitions
- Other duties as assigned
Skills Required
- 3 years of comprehensive I&E experience
- 3 years of experience within natural gas compression operations or equivalent
- Experience with and ability to troubleshoot annunciator and PLCs
- Experience using software to troubleshoot, design, or configure control solutions specific to In Touch
- Wonderware or similar products
- Extensive knowledge of DOT 192, DOT 193, and DOT, as it pertains to required testing and documentation for plants, compressor stations, pipelines, and/or facilities as required
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Electric Code and OSHA 1910 as it relates to electrical systems
- Proficient computer skills
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts, test equipment, flow schematics, and electrical and piping/instrumentation drawings
- Basic knowledge of PLC operations and logic
- Effective oral and written communication
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Able to be a self-starter, detail-oriented, organized, and thorough
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree or technical degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering preferred but not required
Additional Requirements
- Shift Hours: 6:30 am – 5:00 pm (with 30-minute lunch). Eligible for OT after 40 hours worked per week. After-hours and weekend work may be necessary.
