Position Overview:
The Civil Engineer will lead the design, management, and execution of a variety of civil engineering projects, from project entitlements and preliminary design through to construction documents and administration. Based in Duluth, GA, the Civil Engineer will manage project schedules, budgets, and mentor junior team members while ensuring compliance with local regulations. The role will contribute to the success of diverse land development projects in commercial, residential, and healthcare sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple civil engineering projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion.
- Oversee the development of civil construction documents, including hydrologic/hydraulic calculations, mapping, and earthwork.
- Coordinate with multi-discipline design teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior staff throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure compliance with local stormwater regulations, particularly in Georgia and the Southeast.
- Prepare and process project specifications and documentation for civil construction.
- Foster strong client relationships through excellent customer service and technical expertise.
- Manage project schedules, deliverables, and quality control to meet client expectations.
- Support business development efforts by leveraging industry experience and relationships in the Metro Atlanta area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Expertise in stormwater management, technical studies, and civil construction documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets and schedules effectively.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration required, with Georgia registration preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in land development projects (commercial, residential, life sciences, and healthcare).
- Metro Atlanta experience and relationships are a plus.
