POSITION SUMMARY:
The Service Technician is an essential role for Guardian Access Solutions; servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment for clients in all divisions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Repair of parking and access control equipment, gates, and overhead doors
- Computer and Communication/network diagnostics and repair
- Training end users in correct use and maintenance of their systems
- Keep updated on latest software, firmware, and hardware
- Training, follow-up and the developing of other team members
- Diagnose and resolve errors and technical problems
- Preventative maintenance on equipment
- Installation of new equipment
- Record service calls in dispatching system including time, service provided and material
- Educate customers on preventive maintenance and safety measures
- Operate company vehicles in a safe manner
- Maintain and develop good customer relationships
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Regular attendance at work and provides appropriate flexibility
- Adherence to safety guidelines and policies
- Other job related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-4 years of electrical/low voltage/access control industry/HVAC or similar experience, including welding
- Understanding of basic relay logic, basic electrical wiring, using a multimeter for circuit testing and practical applied experience
- Ability to trouble shoot, test, repair and service PARC equipment
- Programming access control events, schedules, and clearances.
- Experience with installing, operating, and maintaining commercial access control or CCTV Systems or other low voltage installations
- Ability to perform independently as well as collaboratively within a team, and demonstrating a willingness to undergo on-the-job training as necessary
- Proficient time management abilities, a strong work ethic, and a keen enthusiasm for continuous learning
- Understanding of access control, and CCTV, systems design, and functionality is preferred
- General ability to learn software and software driven hardware to make programming changes to recording devices as well as access control panels in the field via laptop computer, keypad or local programmer
- As a condition of employment, employer will conduct a background check and drug screen prior to hire
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to different work schedule including on-call rotation for emergency after-hours service and perform physical work outdoors year-round in a variety of weather elements for 8+ hours a day, 40+ hours a week
- Ability to understand, speak and write English

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a fast-paced warehouse setting, and indoor/outdoor construction environment with frequent interruptions. The employee is required to stand; walk; dig; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Duties may require standing and walking for long periods of time. The employee is expected to work alongside the crew and demonstrate the install and/or service process when necessary. The employee is required to perform the expected duties at offsite locations. Frequent need to drive a company provided vehicle to other work locations is expected.
