Job Summary:
• The IT Support Local Lead will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of IT services within our manufacturing plant.
• This position requires a proactive individual who is skilled in troubleshooting, maintaining IT systems, and providing technical support to our teams.
• This individual will work closely with both the Corporate IT department and Local Engineering and Manufacturing staff to address technology needs, implement solutions, and enhance productivity.
Responsibilities:
• Provide first-line support for hardware and software issues encountered by local staff.
• Identify and coordinate with local external resources for support of hardware, and other local needs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot network systems and devices (including printers, computers, servers, and network systems).
• Assist with the installation and configuration of new IT equipment, including servers, network infrastructure, user devices and workstations.
• Collaborate with Corporate IT management to ensure effective local implementation of IT policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular system inspections and performance monitoring to identify potential issues before they escalate.
• Train employees on new technologies and software, ensuring they understand essential IT systems and support processes.
• Assist in the deployment of technology projects, including software updates, system upgrades, and new software installations.
• Maintain documentation for IT processes, user guides, and technical specifications.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience requires at least 3 years).
• 2+ years of experience in a technology support role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, hardware configurations, and software applications.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
• Experience with manufacturing systems (e.g., ERP, MRP systems) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications are advantageous.
