Substation Physical Designer -(Power generation)
Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Our client is looking for a Substation Physical Designer to join their Power Delivery Substation team. If you have a passion for high-voltage transmission substation design and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, this role could be a great fit for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team to complete substation physical design projects, including general arrangements, equipment plans, elevations, control house layouts, and conduit/cable designs.
- Ensure projects meet client standards and our client's quality requirements while maintaining high efficiency.
- Foster strong customer relationships through effective communication and support.
- Attend scoping meetings as needed and assist with bid package preparation.
- Mentor junior designers and engineers, reviewing work for accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture and incorporate safe practices into all project activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in Engineering Technology or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in 69kV to 500kV substation physical design.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and other technical applications.
- Experience in generation plant switchyard design is a plus.
