Position: Mine Superintendent
Location: Upper Peninsula, Michigan, USA
Our client, a leading mining company, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mine Superintendent to oversee surface and underground operations at their facility in Michigan. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safety initiatives, ensuring the mine site maintains a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
- Ensure compliance with all MSHA and other safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee mine operations, ensuring adherence to all regulatory permits, environmental standards, and safety practices.
- Manage mining activities for a 2,000 tonnes per day long hole stope and cut and fill operation.
- Inspect field conditions, troubleshoot issues, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Monitor the performance of teams and equipment to ensure production plans are met.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 12-15 years of mining experience, preferably in an underground environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within operations or technical services.
- Experience with surface plants and mobile equipment maintenance.
- Professional certifications in supervision, safety training, or mine rescue are considered an asset.
