About the Role Are you pursuing a Business Degree and eager to gain some real world experience with Canon Virginia? General Affairs interacts with all departments and safety at the company is the top goal. Come join us for the 2025 Summer Internship Program where you will gain industry and/or organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, including emergency preparedness drills, safety audits and more. Keep reading to take a closer look at the important work you would be involved with as an intern in the General Affairs department.
Your Impact - Business Continuity Audit of all procedures, participating a drill for emergency preparedness.
- Participate in an Active Violence Drill. Interacting with local law enforcement.
- Active participant with the annual CVI Insurance Underwriter Audit.
- GA will provide training on the Genetic Video Management System. Will provide an audit and if needed update the Camera and Card Reader maps.
- Gains industry and/or organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
- Performs diverse and challenging tasks to gain valuable hands on experience.
- Assists CVI staff on various projects, tasks, and activities relating to their area of study or course work; performs day-to-day work that aligns with the function of the business unit.
- Performs assigned tasks consistently in a professional and timely manner to meet required deadlines.
- Utilizes good time management skills to effectively and accurately complete work assignments.
- Exercises good judgment and knowledge from the classroom setting and applies knowledge to a professional work environment.
- Applies research techniques, analytical methods, presentation skills, writing skills, and / or technical knowledge to the workplace.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures governing professional staff behavior.
- May be responsible for research, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. as part of the assigned projects.
- May work in several departments to assist with completing any additional projects or tasks.
- Participates in activities designed for development during assignment (i.e. Lunch and Learns, Roundtable Discussions, etc.)
- Prepares presentation summarizing the experiences gained through the internshipand presents to peers and management.
- May attend meetings and/or company events.
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring - Student must be working towards an undergraduate degree with the minimum credit hours to be classified as a junior or senior in their studies and have taken several related courses to the field in which they will be assigned.
- Student must be at least 18 years of age.
- Student must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- The dates for CVI's Summer Internship will be June 2, 2025 to August 8, 2025.
- Some positions may require that the intern meet the ITAR definition of “U.S. Person” (22 C.F.R. § 120.15) as a: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, or otherwise a protected individual (including refugees and asylees) due to work areas being subject to export controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
