Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
Department/Unit Summary - Float Position
- RN will be trained in every area- Pre-admission testing, Preop, Phase I and II of Recovery.
- This position primarily covers staff that are out on PTO or medical leave. Will be trained in each area.
- RN will have schedule at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance so staffing planning can take place.
- Monday - Friday position, with limited weekend requirements
- Call- one night every other week and weekend - 2nd call (Saturday/Sunday) once every 10-12 weeks
- Phase 1 recovery - recover patient for 30 minutes to one hour (depending on type of anesthesia given), then send to Phase 2 and give hand off to another nurse.
- Phase 2 recovery - go over discharge paperwork with family member, give patient snack and medicine. Free to discharge if they meet requirements.
