George Thomas are working in close partnership with a highly innovative company in the field of Food Ingredients and Colors.
We're currently seeking an Application Scientist to join our client's Application Team. This role involves preparing, blending, developing, and formulating solutions in response to project requests. The Application Scientist will liaise with Technical, Sales, Customer Care, Quality, and Operations Teams to ensure timely fulfilment of customer project requirements. Additionally, this position requires providing technical support for both internal and external inquiries.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Develop technical solutions to customer-driven and marketing-driven food and beverage projects from bench-top to commercial scale levels.
- Provides technical and application support to customers and maintains relationship with key customer stakeholders
- Continuously works with manager on improving technical sales support and internal technical customer support processes.
- Understands the chemistry and functionality of food ingredients in color formulations and remains current with relevant food and beverage industry trends.
- Ensures compliance with the regulations governing colors and ingredients manufactured or distributed by the company in assigned regions
- Adheres to all safety and quality requirements, offers suggestions to enhance site safety, and reports all incidents/accidents to the management immediately
To be considered for the role you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related area from a four-year college or university;
- 2-5 years related experience or training (beverage, snacks, meat preferred); or MS in Food Science or related area with minimum 2 years of food application experience (beverage, snacks, meat preferred) in a food company
- Experience with color/ingredient applications, customer presentations, program/system planning, statistical reporting/analysis and cost/benefit analysis preferred.
- Ability to work on cross-functional projects alone and as part of a team is critical.
- The ability to perform at a high level in a continuously changing work pace is essential.
