Job Summary
Join a team of experts in aerospace component repair! CRT is seeking a Weld Department Manager to lead and oversee a highly skilled team, ensuring that all repair and modification tasks are completed efficiently and meet our high standards of quality. This role involves hands-on leadership in production planning, staff development, and process improvement. You will manage safety, equipment, and training for the team, while also motivating and guiding personnel to exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Weld Department, ensuring timely and safe project execution.
- Develop and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
- Monitor the quality of welds and ensure standards are met in all projects.
- Apply expertise in TIG welding (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) to repair turbine engine components for the aerospace industry.
- Oversee team performance, providing coaching, development, and conducting performance reviews.
- Collaborate with other department managers to meet company goals.
- Utilize technology and software to manage job assignments, monitor metrics, and ensure efficiency.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience in manufacturing, preferably in weld repair or fabrication.
- 2+ years of experience in TIG welding and reading/interpreting shop drawings and instructions.
- High School diploma or equivalent; advanced technical education or trade school preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with software tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Preferred Skills
- Technical certification in TIG welding or prior certification in AWS D17.1.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
- Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
