Job Summary:
We're partnering with a Fortune 500 Entertainment company that is looking for a Documentation Engineer to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for translating complex technical discussions into clear and concise documentation, including API references, system architectures, and design documents. You'll work closely with developers, engineers, and other technical teams to ensure all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and up to date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend technical meetings to capture key discussions, decisions, and specifications for documentation.
- Create and update technical documents, including system architecture diagrams, API documentation, and design specs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the accuracy of documentation.
- Manage and organize documentation repositories for easy access.
- Support onboarding for new engineers by providing detailed project documentation.
Must-Have Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 2-3+ years of experience in a technical writing or documentation role.
- Proficiency in Python and basic software engineering concepts.
- Experience with AWS cloud services, especially Kinesis, Lambda, and CDK.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and markdown for documentation.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, or developer-focused content.
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams to gather information.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of additional Python frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, or Pydantic.
- Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA.
