GNS America was established in 2009. Our core business is in conventional stamping, hot stamping, welding, and assembly. Our tool and die capability offer simulation and full design and build activities.
Hot and Conventional Stamping
GNS offers a complete range of stamping equipment. Our stamping facilities can cater to any required automotive and industrial stamping requirements. In our automotive operations, we have a full range of stamping capabilities in the 100 ton to 800 ton range, in multiple locations. Our stamping capabilities span a variety of metals.
Laser Cutting
GNS is a recognized leader in the use of laser technologies, GNS utilizes multi-axis laser cutting technology. Our multi-axis lasers are used for both prototyping and our large volume production for the automotive industry. In addition to cutting flat metal, GNS provides trimming and hole piercing services for three-dimensional parts. Our lasers have the versatility to cut a variety of metals with varying thickness and degrees of complexity.
Welding
At GNS, we use spot welding in the welding of Ultra High Strength Steel and Press Hardening parts. Our welding and assembly cells are highly automated. We use automated robots to perform several of the most complex and precise operations inside the welding cells to achieve maximum cost reduction and ensure we produce the highest quality products for our customers.
SUMMARY: Supports a manufacturing facility by performing professional level Human Resources responsibilities involving multiple operational areas such as administrative support and compliance, payroll, benefits administration, training, employee relations, and new hire orientation/onboarding.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In each of the duties listed below the employee is expected to perform to the highest standards of quality, to strive for maximum customer satisfaction, and to continually look for ways to improve the methods, practices and procedures of this position. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in an effective manner with customers, clients, suppliers, and employees.
Benefits Administration
- In depth knowledge of company health and welfare benefits to assist in plan administration. Answers employees’ questions providing further assistance and guidance.
- Prepares and submits regular reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Employee Relations
- Acts as a resource on Human Resources matters, providing guidance, assistance and support to management, supervisors and employees.
- Conducts new hire orientations and assists with new hire onboarding.
- Recommends communications designed to improve the employment environment.
- Counsels supervisors and employees on rules, policies and established procedures.
- Participates in, and at times may lead, investigations into alleged employee relations issues.
- Conducts separation meetings and/or exit interviews.
Payroll
- Works with leaders to ensure timely and accurate completion and submittal of all timecard records.
- Assists Compensation & Benefits Manager with approving weekly payroll in the payroll system (Kronos).
- Assists employees and leaders with Plex timeclock system questions.
- Assists employees and leaders with Kronos payroll system questions.
Training
- Maintains all training records for location.
- Schedules training programs.
- Communicates with location’s managers regarding annual training needs and training completed.
- Ensures collection and entry of all training forms into electronic database.
- Counsels local supervisors and managers on Company’s ISO and IATF policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Acts as a resource for location’s managers in identifying appropriate programs and resources to meet training needs.
- Acts as a resource to train plant HR Coordinator.
Administrative Support and Compliance
- Ensures Employee Files are kept up to date with documentation required to comply with employment laws.
- Timely filing of all necessary HR paperwork including required quarterly/annual government filings.
- May assist with unemployment claims processing and response development.
- Responsible for coordination of employee relations/appreciation events.
- Responsible for assisting visitors at the facility.
- Responsible for ordering office supplies for HR team.
Other duties may be assigned.
Miscellaneous (Non-Supervisory):
Acts as a good steward of the Company’s resources and exemplifies the values of the Company.
Ensures personal compliance with all Company policies, procedures, values, ethics, and rules.
Maintains and promotes a safe work environment through ownership of Company safety program. This includes following and enforcing all safety rules/regulations and proper operating procedures, as well as the proper use of prescribed safety equipment pertinent to the department, and immediately reporting all accidents/incidents to supervisor and Human Resources.
Supports the Company’s equal employment opportunity policy and actions, immediately reporting violations to supervisor and/or the Human Resources department.
Ensures that work area is free from any form of harassment (sexual, racial, religious, etc.), immediately reporting violations to supervisor and/or the Human Resources department.
Supports Company’s quality and environmental policies and programs and meets quality requirements specified for position. Meets quality requirements specified by production drawings, bills of materials, control plans, policies, work instructions, and procedures.
Actively participates in and successfully completes appropriate training and that all training provided is evaluated and that proper documentation is provided for accurate maintenance of the employee’s training record.
Meets with supervisor at least once per year to review job performance using this job description as a basis for appraisal.
Maintains complete security and confidentiality of all Company records and employee data.
Maintains a clean, orderly and professional work environment.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct supervision is required of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, and at least five to ten years of Human Resources experience including knowledge and experience with Human Resources and employment laws and compliance (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FCRA, AA, USERRA, OSHA, etc.); or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Payroll and benefits administration experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Professional human resources certification is preferred (e.g. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, etc.)
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to use a personal computer with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications most notably Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to use main business information system (PLEX experience is preferred), Human Resource Information Systems (PLEX and Kronos preferred), and Internet based services.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
