Position Overview:
A prominent real estate investment firm is seeking a highly skilled General Counsel to lead their legal department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate transactions and a proven track record of providing strategic legal guidance in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all legal aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing.
- Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including investment, development, and asset management teams, to ensure alignment on legal strategies.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and consultants as needed.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting real estate investment.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in any state.
- 7+ years of experience in a legal role focused on commercial real estate transactions.
- Strong understanding of real estate law, finance, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
