Wordpress Developer
Hybrid 1-3 days/week in Minneapolis
Position Overview:
This hybrid WordPress Developer role combines responsibilities of both Plugin Development and Front-End Development to support the creation of custom solutions and enhancements to our digital properties. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, is well-versed in building custom WordPress plugins that integrate with 3rd party APIs, and is experienced in developing custom block-based themes using WordPress’s latest patterning features.
Key Responsibilities:
- Custom Plugin Development:
- Design and build custom WordPress plugins that integrate with Design Huddle, Microsoft Dynamics, and other 3rd party APIs.
- Ensure seamless integration of plugins with existing WordPress and WooCommerce installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any plugin-related issues to ensure high functionality and performance.
- Front-End Development:
- Develop custom block-based themes using WordPress’s latest full-site editing and patterning features.
- Collaborate closely with the design and development teams to implement consistent, high-quality UI components.
- Maintain strong adherence to accessibility standards and ensure responsive design across all digital platforms.
- Project Coordination & Communication:
- Work collaboratively with the internal team to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with remote and in-person team members to ensure alignment on project scope and expectations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in developing custom WordPress plugins and themes.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of WordPress APIs, RESTful APIs, and custom post types.
- Experience working with WooCommerce is a plus.
- Familiarity with full-site editing and block-based theme development in WordPress.
- Solid understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility best practices.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues independently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment.
Contract Talent The salary range for this position is 49/hr to 52/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
