Below is the job description for the position:
Position Title - UNIX & Linux System Administrator
Location - Lower Manhattan, NY 10007 (Fully onsite)
Duration - 6+ Months (with possible extension)
Working Hours: 35 Hours/Week
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Linux Systems Engineering: Technical Services related to the system architectural design for UNIX-Linux Operating System environment and enterprise-wide system standards and operating policies.
- Linux System Operations: Technical Services providing proactive monitoring of UNIX-Linux systems environment and problem resolution, user support, printing support, system application support. Operating System support, hardware/software system installation, configuration and maintenance.
- Linux Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Technical Services supporting backup and restore of data, business continuity methods and policies, system High availability and Disaster Recovery strategy and testing.
Skills Desired:
- Red Hat Linux Server OS Engineering & Administration
- Red Hat Satellite Server Administration
- Red Hat Directory Server
- OS Upgrades, Patching and overall Systems management lifecycle
- VMWare vSphere virtualization
- Kubernetes Cluster and Containers technology
- Scripting & Automation
- Experience in Cloud Computing (Oracle, Azure)
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
- Familiarity with some experience in Red Hat Ansible
- Self-motivated & Team player
- Excellent communication skills
- 8-10 years of experience on Linux technologies and ecosystem
- Red Hat Linux certification a plus
