Our Client is seeking a Safety, Health Environmental Manager to support their new Wisconsin facility in furthering Environmental, Health and Safety goals culture. The incumbent with work with site leadership to identify and provide solutions to EHS issues and provide best practice guidance. The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will be highly involved in determining root causes for injuries and identifying corrective actions (short-term and long-term).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitates development of Environmental, Safety & Health programs, policies, work procedures and training including inspections, assessments, program audits, incident investigations, data reporting, monitoring, report submissions, and on the floor safety leadership.
Supporting clear communication about the safety program across all functions and provide a hands-on approach to increase engagement in safety practices.
Support the Company Injury/ Illness Prevention Program through identification of hazardous workplace conditions and recommending engineering or administrative controls, in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies and procedures.
Program support will include but not be limited to the following: industrial hygiene, Lock-out Tag-out, respiratory protection, confined space, indoor air quality, office and industrial ergonomic evaluations as well as critical programs such as machine guarding, powered industrial trucks amongst others
Responsibilities will also include periodic injury / illness data analysis, hands-on job hazard assessment program support and input and monitoring of safety related corrective actions.
Conduct selected safety program auditing activities and recommend corrective actions as requested. Lead Safety Committee both formally through meetings and informally through coaching and influencing safe practices.
Build trust with shop floor employees by engaging with the team daily.
Skills and Experience
5-10 years of Safety and Health and/or Safety Leadership experience, preferably in heavy manufacturing
Experience with California OSHA regulatory requirements
Experience implementing safety initiatives and programs
Strong experience in injury prevention initiatives and programs
Strong attention to detail and ability to build trust with manufacturing operators Good communication and presentation skills
Microsoft Office and database skills
Comfortable executing through a hands-on approach Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field
