Controller, CPA/MBA
Role Summary:
This Controller position is a high-level financial leader capable of managing all aspects of financial strategy, reporting, and control for a growing and entrepreneurial company operating in multi-state and multi-entity environments. The Controller will oversee accounting, cash flow management, and compliance, while contributing to long-term business growth and is critical to the company's financial health and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all company accounting records.
- Conduct monthly reviews of balance sheets, income statements, and comparisons to prior periods and budget, including preparation and creation of all financial statements and footnotes.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including unearned revenue and seven bank reconciliations.
- Manage the preparation and filing of state and local taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor cash flow analysis.
- Managing and reporting all capital improvement projects completed for the National
Forest Service/USDA according to an annual plan.
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and Capex reporting.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Experience with Paychex payroll and HR systems.
- Knowledge of Square or other payment systems.
- Prior experience in concession management, real estate, or hospitality industries.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
Experience:
- At least 10 years of accounting experience, with 5+ years in a Controller or senior financial leadership role.
- Strong background in managing multi-state operations and handling government contracts.
- Previous experience with National Park or Forest Service contracts would be a significant advantage.
- Proven ability to lead teams and contribute to strategic financial growth.

Work Environment:
