About the Role:
Fidelity Charitable is seeking a talented Quality Software Engineer who is experienced in data warehouse/data lake testing, analyzing data, validating and independently troubleshooting data issues. In this role, you will work with data analysts, data engineers, data governance and business partners who take pride in building a quality data environment and analytical platform. You’ll be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle and have a direct impact on the quality of the customer experience. This role requires a combination of both developer, data analysis, and quality assurance skill sets, as well as experience working on an Agile development team.
Responsibilities:
- Direct experience implementing QA standard processes for data warehouse/data lake quality assurance; Snowflake experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability in functional testing, test automation tools and implementation
- Proficiency in professional software development skills (Snowflake exposure, ETL dev etc)
- Strong abilities around writing complex SQL queries and performing data analysis
- Experience in using any automation tools for data analysis like Python, Alteryx, ICEDQ, etc.
- Ability to organize and conduct proof of concept exercises on Snowflake compatible automation tools with the intent to recommend solutions to the organization.
- Proven understanding and passion for QA engineering, Test Driven Development, developing robust software, writing testable and maintainable automation code.
- Experience integrating the automation code with DevOps pipeline for CICD and usage of tools like Jenkins, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly collaborative team player that works well within a cross functional team across multiple locations
- Strong problem identification and solving skills; Ability to perform root cause analysis
- Ability to perform requirement analysis, defect tracking, test reporting and closure, while partnering with developers to address QA findings.
- You have excellent understanding of Oracle, Snowflake, SnowSql
- Working knowledge of Relational Database Management System
- Knowledge on Cloud (AWS/Azure) and Cloud Data platforms
- Good working experience in scripting languages, preferably Python, Unix, and Shell scripting
- Experience in reporting tools like – Tableau, Power BI, etc. is an advantage.
- Experience or knowledge of using a Selenium automation framework (Java based)
- Experience or understanding of Agile software development methodology using Scrum.
