Job Summary: The Director of Operations will oversee all aspects of production, compounding, maintenance, and sanitization processes. This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in operations management within the personal care manufacturing industry. The Director of Operations will ensure efficient, cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all operational departments, including production, compounding, maintenance, and sanitization.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to achieve business objectives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (GMP, ISO, FDA, etc.).
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring that production schedules are met and products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
- Manage and optimize the production process to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Ensure that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized to meet operational and safety standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, R&D, and Supply Chain, to support new product development and process improvements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and drive accountability.
- Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Ensure proper training and development of operational staff to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management within the personal care or related manufacturing industry.
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in operations management software and tools.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Certification in operations management (e.g., APICS, PMP) is a plus.
