Eugenia Kim, Inc. is seeking a Fall Product Development Intern to assist the team! We are looking for an intern 3-5 days per week. The intern will be assisting the team in all areas of product development, along with design and production, so this is a wonderful opportunity to learn about working for a luxury fashion accessories company. This position requires a high-energy, hard-working go-getter and team player that pays very strong attention to detail and believes that no task is too small.
The intern works directly alongside our design and product development teams. There are many opportunities for a self-motivated intern to handle a variety of projects across departments, and to learn a wide range of skills in participating in this hands-on internship.
Responsibilities:
- Research trends and color for design team
- Help with costing on Excel
- Help update Excels that are sent to factories and for internal costing
- Help communicate with factories and fabric mills
- Help with sourcing fabrics, trims, and other materials on Alibaba China, at fabric showrooms, and in the Garment District
- Choose Pantones to match materials as requested by the design team
- Calculate yields both manually and in Illustrator
- Copy patterns to ship to overseas factories
- Work hands-on with the in-house sample room to help realize samples
Requirements:
- Commitment of 3-5 days per week
- Must live in New York Metropolitan area as this is an onsite internship
- Previous experience in Fashion in schooling or work experience required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
- Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator skills are a major plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Fluency in Mandarin is a major plus
