ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an experienced Manager of Accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and supervises accounting staff to ensure effective staffing model for existing business.
- Hires and works to retain staff consistent with maximizing ratio of staff to clients for optimal efficiency.
- Prepares performance reviews for entire accounting department
- Manages growth and development of staff, provides leadership and fosters challenging environment that allows employees to grow personally and professionally. Motivates, leads, rewards, develops, promotes and disciplines employees.
- Manages and directs staff to ensure timely and accurate financial and statistical reporting to clients and boards.
- Responsible for establishing financial systems and controls for new clients to create a seamless integration with accounting systems and reporting requirements.
- Manages the coordination and preparation of client budgets, capital budgets and forecasting.
- Manages the coordination of year-end independent reviews/audits.
- Manages the coordination of all appropriate tax returns, such as, federal, state, property, and sales/use tax returns for all clients.
- Maintains appropriate supporting documentation (i.e. reconciliation’s, permanent file information) for all clients to ensure proper accounting of transactions.
- Maintains retention policy for accounting and tax files.
- Oversees completion of Business Valuations for clients.
- Oversees client banking and other financial institutional relationships including loans, lease financing and cash management.
- Assists development of new business projects including financial forecasts.
- Responsible for identifying process improvements within the accounting department.
- Assists Payer Contracting with financial analysis of payer agreements, reimbursements and terms for negotiation purposes.
- Assists Business Office and Materials Management Operations including inventory control; inventory observations; accounts receivable, billing collections, and client IT systems.
- Assists in quarterly training sessions and presentations with administrators on financial and operational matters.
- Assists with special projects as requested by clients and management, including but not limited to physical inventory counts, contribution margin analysis, ratio analysis, investor presentations, and attendance at board meetings.
Qualifications- BS or BA in Accounting from an accredited university or college required
- CPA, MBA preferred
- Seven years accounting/finance experience with a minimum of four years supervisory experience required
