Job Title: Tech - Weld, Design and Fabricator
Who We're Looking For
Our Client's Internal Logistics Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Fabricator. The primary responsibility of this role is to support MIT-Internal Logistics Engineering projects and work with cross-functional groups. Reporting to the Internal Logistics Manager, the person in this role will support the Internal Logistics Engineering department's objective to optimize the Our Client North America supply chain by balancing the requirements of External Logistics, Production Engineering Planning, and Manufacturing Groups to develop the most efficient internal delivery process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Advanced level fabrication based on prints and 3D models
- 3D design for project fabrication
- Problem solving to improve current equipment designs
- Welding (MIG) and (TIG)
- Grinding and deburring
- Using hydraulic press to shape metal
- Using bandsaw to cut metal
- Maintaining a clean and safe workshop
- Testing equipment to ensure quality to the customer
- Attend meetings with engineers and management
Requirements
- High level welding skills
- ACAD experience
- 3D design (e.g., Inventor or SolidWorks)
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Desire to improve
- Ability to work safely
- The ability to lead fabrication projects from start to finish, including estimating material and cost
- The willingness to travel occasionally to assess projects
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends
- Basic MS Office skills (create and modify Excel documents, send and receive daily emails, schedule Teams meetings)
What You May Bring
- AWS certifications
- CNC experience
- Forklift experience
- Experience with any type of automation equipment
Additional Information:
- This is an onsite role with normal work hours from Monday to Thursday, consisting of 10-hour shifts. If overtime is required, work will be on Friday.
- Steel toe boots are required.
- Up to 25% travel to all North America NAMCs is expected, domestic only, within 1-2 months after hire.
