We are partnering with our client in Flagstaff, AZ on a direct hire Control Engineer position.
Description: Control Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes. This position requires a strong understanding of automation, process control, and problem-solving skills to optimize production efficiency, ensure quality standards, and enhance system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Develop control systems using PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), and SCADA systems for manufacturing processes.
- System Integration: Integrate sensors, actuators, robotics, and other devices into control systems to automate processes.
- Programming: Write, test, and modify PLC and HMI code to control industrial equipment.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve control system issues in real-time to minimize downtime.
- Process Optimization: Work closely with production teams to identify areas for automation and improvement in manufacturing processes.
- Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including control schematics, system configurations, and operational procedures.
- Compliance: Ensure all control systems meet safety standards and comply with industry regulations.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, and operators to implement and maintain control systems effectively.
- Project Management: Lead and manage control system projects from concept through implementation, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in control systems engineering, with a focus on PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development tools.
- Knowledge of electrical schematics and control panel design.
- Strong understanding of automation, robotics, and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
- Familiarity with safety systems (emergency stop circuits, safety PLCs, etc.).
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
- Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) license or certification in Control Systems Engineering (desirable but not required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive or aerospace manufacturing.
- Experience with robot programming and integration (e.g., FANUC, KUKA).
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, data analytics).
