Akkodis has a job opening with a client in the Troy area for a Product Development Engineer to help develop cutting edge additive manufacturing solutions for industrial businesses. In this role, you will work closely with our cross-functional team to drive design, optimization and testing of product solutions using various 3D printing technologies spanning polymers and metals. Our client is a large global manufacturing company but this team has only been around a few years and functions as a start-up so it's a very exciting opportunity for the right person!
This is a full-time will be on-site based out of their facility with a target salary range of around $80,000 - $110,000. They have incredible benefits, performance bonus, generous PTO, paid holiday shutdown and other great perks.
Job Responsibilities for the Product Development Engineer:
- Lead and execute the design, optimization and testing of product solutions, including product attributes, timelines, quality, cost-effectiveness, unique specifications, and other details.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including materials scientists, process engineers, operating technicians, quality, sales and marketing and other business stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and maintain procedures needed to build products efficiently and cost effectively.
- Communicate regarding budget, status, personnel, or necessary resources for projects to ensure projects are achievable and align with procedural standards.
Job Qualifications for the Product Development Engineer:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field with at least 3 years of work experience
- Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) preferred
