The CFO will report directly to the Corporate CFO of Atlantic Health System (AHS) and will work closely with the President of CentraState Health System (CSHS) at its facilities. As a key member of leadership, the role will provide financial expertise, advice and analysis related to CSHS and AHS. The CFO responsibilities will include:
Strategy, Planning and Management
- Act as a strategic business partner to the senior leadership team to enable execution of the financial strategy in conjunction with AHS and CSHS level initiatives.
- Assess and evaluate financial performance of CSHS with regard to long-term and short-term operational goals, budgets, and plans.
- Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of CSHS – including but not limited to creation/collaboration of business plans with service line leaders, practice leadership and other CSHS and AHS leaders.
- Participate in pivotal decisions related to strategic initiatives by creating and establishing financial objectives that align with the CSHS’s and AHS’s plan for growth and expansion, including operational and capital budgeting.
- Identify and effectively communicate potential risks in a timely manner.
- Actively participate in Board of Trustees and subcommittee meetings for both CSHS and AHS (as necessary), Site Medical Staff and community meetings.
Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, regulatory compliance and procedures affecting financial reporting as well as operations.
Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting
Prepare and present monthly financial reports including monthly profit and loss, volume trends, productivity and agency usage, participation in the monthly close of CSHS and AHS.
- Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendation to site leadership.
- Review and maintain a healthy revenue cycle and managed care relationship to ensure consistent patient throughput and cash flow.
- Ongoing monitoring of expense structure to identify opportunities for efficiencies and cost reduction.
- Identify, develop, and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches and/or new service offerings.
- Develop and maintain monthly operating and capital budget.
- Engage with Foundation leadership for funding requests.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation or master’s degree preferred
- Experience in an integrated health delivery system and senior care facilities strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive healthcare finance experience
- Current knowledge of JCAHO, OSHA, State, and federal regulatory standards
