What You Will Be Doing
A reputable company in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking an HVAC Pipe Installer. This role involves installing HVAC mechanical equipment and piping in new commercial construction projects. Ideal candidates are self-motivated team players with the ability to professionally install or modify HVAC systems while focusing on customer satisfaction.
The Ideal Candidate
- Pipe Installation: Install piping systems, including hydronics, gas pipe, condensate pipe, and refrigeration piping.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine pipe layouts and specifications.
- Pipe Cutting and Joining: Cut, thread, groove, press, and solder pipes. Welding skills are a plus.
- Testing and Inspection: Test pipes for leaks using pressure gauges or other equipment. Inspect and troubleshoot pipe systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Coordination: Work effectively with other trades on site to ensure smooth project execution.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a strong focus on safety on all job sites, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
Other Essential Functions
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pipefitter.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical principles.
- Skills: Proficiency in pipe threading, soldering, and brazing. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong communication and teamwork abilities
