Job Description:
- Oversee lab simulator operations for NAVAIR’s F/A-18 Lab-Facilities Team.
- Provide technical support and customer service to engineers and lab users that conduct system integration tests for F/A-18 and EA-18G development.
- Troubleshoot F/A-18 avionic systems and restore lab simulator functionality in the event of failure component discrepancies.
- Work on a tech team that multitasks during high operational tempo: perform technical and logistic tasks while supporting multiple lab users in test with a quality customer service attitude.
- Routinely schedule lab tests and coordinate assets per specific user requests in a secure testing environment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on wire bundles, connectors, RF cables, and fiber-optic lines for avionics and weapons integration lab equipment.
- Evaluate, specify, order, test, configure, and track aircraft and lab assets for AWL Facilities requirements.
- Support the Lab-Facilities Team’s Electrical Engineers with evaluation of lab system repairs, modifications, and upgrades.
Education/Experience:
- High School graduate with 7 years of relevant experience or 5 years of experience with certified training at US Navy “A” School for Aviation or commercial avionics technical school.
- Must be able to be granted a security clearance and maintain one for the duration of employment.
- Able to stand for long duration of time, kneel, bend, independently lift up to 50-lbs, and move mobile equipment as a team.
- Must have experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Office programs, and web-database applications.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be available to workday or night shift.
Desired Skills:
- Prior USN / USMC flight line maintainer, trained as an Aviation Electronics Technician or Aviation Electrician, experienced with Airborne Weapon Systems.
- USN Class “C” School certifications in in E/A-18 Growler Platform and electrical and electronics repair.
- 24 months of F/A-18 O-Level Avionics/Electrician experience; 12 within past 36 months.
