Overview:
We're looking for a licensed, journeyman electrician to join a successful and reputable solar contractor who have offices along the Central Coast. This isn't a traveling role so ideally we want someone to be based in or around SLO, Santa Maria or San Ynez.
As a Licensed Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential and commercial settings. Experience working with solar, and/ or battery systems is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in residential and commercial properties.
- Conduct inspections and troubleshooting to identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Provide support for solar energy systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical code specifications.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Mentor and provide guidance to apprentices and junior electricians as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical work and solar energy.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Journeyman Electrician License.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in residential and commercial electrical work.
- Experience with solar energy systems is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
