Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a prestigious public company is seeking a highly committed and meticulous and experienced Controller specializing in Real Estate to join their team in Miami Beach. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of real estate financial management and demonstrate the ability to lead and optimize our accounting functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our financial information and supporting our strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 3 years in a real estate environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
