Technical Program Manager – Meetings & Events
Salary $125k - $135k
We are seeking a customer-obsessed, Technical Program Manager (TPM) with experience of meetings and events (M&E) technology to drive the design and delivery of new innovative solutions for our client, Amazon.
In this TPM role, you will be encouraged to dive deep, be curious, continuously learn, and invent and simplify at every opportunity. You will bring your strong technology background and passion for the corporate Meetings & Events industry to assist in delivering a long-term ambitious program strategy. This will involve utilizing next generation AWS technology for internally developed platforms and maximise investment in externally sourced tools. You will support the software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing, delivery, and support. You won’t be doing the coding but you’re technical enough to call out nonsense when you see it! Each step of the way you will automate manual operations, implement efficiencies, and focus on delighting our customers.
Our customers are your number one priority. You will collaborate closely across the Travel & Events team and across Amazon to understand current and future customers’ needs. You will take that knowledge and proactively build solutions that delight them. You will also work with the Event Technology specialist to identify major pain points in current M&E tech platforms, understand the desired improvements, and deliver. You recognize and appreciate the needs of a variety of customers and stakeholders across the event lifecycle of different event types and can communicate effectively and respectfully with each. As the tech-to-plain-English translator, you will be the bridge between the technology and the people in our organization. With your high relational ability, you can effectively handle multiple stakeholders with different objectives to ensure smooth delivery of the technical application (s).
Lastly, you have strong project management acumen, using standard agile and/or waterfall PM techniques to ensure technology reaches its intended audience as efficiently as possible. You can support or own project planning, define scope, execute against plans, meet milestones and commitments, and deliver on time. In this way, you are responsible for delivering key results against strategic program objectives and reporting progress upwards to leadership and other key stakeholders.

Key Tasks will Include:
- Technical Program Management – Curating and maintaining an innovative technology stack to support Amazon's Meetings and Events program, with a strong focus on successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Project Management – Lead and support project and product managers in the implementation of new, and customization of existing technologies that require major changes, ensuring timely program delivery. Own the prioritization of features and testing cycles for new solutions and work closely with the Event Technology Specialist on existing applications.
- Support of M&E Technology Strategy – Assisting the Event Technology Solutions Manager in developing a long-term M&E technology program that aligns with the broader Travel, Meetings and Events initiatives. This role involves ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Continuous Improvement – Collaborating closely with the M&E operational teams to implement tools, controls, and mechanisms into standard operating procedures. This will drive improved program and policy compliance, optimize processes, and enhance the customer experience.
- Customer Relationship - Build and maintain strong internal relationships with key stakeholders across the organization. Communicate proactively, concisely, and clearly utilizing Amazon writing standards.
- Customer Satisfaction – Work closely with customers during the testing and post-deployment phases of projects to ensure our products fully meet their needs.

- Technical Project Management – Direct experience in leading projects and project management methodology e.g., how a complex technology project is approached, organized, documented, and tracked.
- Implementing enterprise-wide technology systems – Deep experience implementing new technology into an existing system. This goes beyond the maintenance of technology platforms; we’re talking adopting and customizing new systems, merging existing technologies, or migrating from one platform to another on a large scale.
- A strong team player - Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other business, product and tech teams and to lead through influence. Proficiency in communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders is a must.
- Stakeholder Management - Build and maintain strong internal relationships with stakeholders across the organization. Investigate and resolve issues/problems and anticipate questions before they are asked
Experience Required5+ years in technology roles,
- Leading or supporting enterprise-wide implementations.
- Experience of workplace technologies or other ERP tools would be a bonus.
- Experience of Meetings & Events Technology, although not essential, would be a huge bonus.
- Working knowledge of the priorities and working tasks of a fast-paced global team.
- Experience of introducing next gen’ concepts into a corporate technology stack.
- Experience in the delivery, testing, and adoption phases of technology solutions with large groups of users.
- Experience in product research, analysis and gathering voice of customer input.
- Experience working with project managers to execute feedback mechanisms to ensure the system is performing as desired across all phases of testing and adoption Experience Preferred
- Experience of implementing and/or maintaining Meetings & Events technology for corporate clients.
- Experience working in a waterfall and/or agile team environment.
- Experience with Asana, Smartsheet, other project management software
- Experience working directly with SDE’s in an enterprise environment
