Position: Java Cloud Project Manager

Job Description: Project Manager
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Java Cloud Project Manager to lead and oversee the development and delivery of cloud-based Java applications and services. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of AWS cloud platforms, Java development frameworks, and a proven ability to manage large-scale cloud projects from conception to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and delivering high-quality cloud solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
· Understand technology and how it's used to drive business growth and/or efficiencies to successfully design solutions for rapid delivery, performance, flexibility, reusability, and customer value.
· Understand how client internal applications are interconnected so a full analysis of the impacts of new products, new features, enhancements, and migrations will have on the rest of the system.
· Project Planning & Management:
· Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
· Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
· Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
· Ensure all Java cloud project milestones are met on time and within budget.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
· Lead cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps engineers, testers, and business analysts.
· Facilitate communication between development teams, cloud engineers, and business stakeholders.
· Coordinate with external vendors or cloud service providers when necessary.
· Provide mentorship and guidance to technical teams to ensure project alignment and goal achievement.
Stakeholder Management:
· Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, business leaders, and other internal teams.
· Communicate project updates, timelines, and risks clearly and effectively.
· Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure satisfaction with project deliverables.
· Support decisions made at the product and enterprise level to create standard approach for common themes which span multiple project teams while mentoring and training team members on client architecture and design principles.
Cloud Technology Implementation:
· Ensure that Java applications are designed and deployed to AWS cloud environment by following best practices.
· Work with cloud architects to ensure that cloud infrastructure is scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
· Oversee the integration of Java applications with cloud services such as microservices, containers, databases, and monitoring tools.
Agile Process Management:
· Manage the software development lifecycle using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
· Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings to ensure smooth Agile execution.
· Ensure the continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipeline is optimized for the Java cloud projects.
Risk & Issue Management:
· Identify, analyze, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
· Resolve issues promptly and escalate critical issues when necessary to ensure project continuity.
Budget & Resource Management:
· Develop and manage project budgets, including forecasting costs for cloud resources, development efforts, and other related expenses.
· Optimize the use of cloud services to ensure cost efficiency without sacrificing performance or security.
Quality Assurance & Testing:
· Ensure all Java cloud applications meet quality standards through proper testing (unit, integration, and performance tests).
· Coordinate testing efforts and validate that deliverables meet acceptance criteria and business requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a Project Manager in Java cloud-based projects.
· Strong understanding of Java programming frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate) and microservices architecture.
· Experience on AWS cloud platforms and associated services like EC2, S3, Kubernetes, Lambda, etc.
· Proficiency in Agile project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
· Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes).
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
· PMP or Scrum Master Certification.
· Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
· Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
· Familiarity with cloud security, monitoring, and governance best practices.
