JOB OVERVIEW:
The Loss Prevention Associate plays a critical role in minimizing losses due to theft and dishonest behavior within the retail environment. This position requires a proactive and vigilant individual who will remain highly visible, engage with customers, and support the store team in various loss prevention efforts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate integrity, effective communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic retail setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Visible Presence & Customer Engagement:
- highly visible at the store entrance.
- customers and monitor for suspicious behavior.
- with customers in high-risk departments.
Loss Prevention Support:
- in recovering stolen merchandise.
- video surveillance for evidence.
- EAS audits for compliance.
Investigative Support:
- in internal investigations.
- interviews and provide testimony.
- integrity and confidentiality.
Collaboration and Partnership:
Support multiple store locations.
Maintain positive relationships with the store team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in criminal justice or related field preferred.
- experience in loss prevention, security, or retail operations strongly preferred.
- with CCTV systems and other surveillance technologies.
- observational skills with the ability to detect suspicious behavior and respond appropriately.
- communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
- to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- to maintain composure in stressful situations and make quick, effective decisions.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk; or hear.
- employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
- The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
