As the Shop Production Lead, you will lead our team through the intricacies of producing custom millwork and high-volume cabinets. Your main responsibilities include ensuring timely project completion, maintaining high-quality standards through team training, and coordinating with the drafting, CNC programming, and operations teams to provide excellence in production outputs. You will oversee the entire production process from handling raw materials to overseeing CNC operations, from initial assembly to final packaging, while upholding strict quality control standards to meet our rigorous expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Direct a talented production team to ensure efficient operations and the delivery of quality outputs.
- Production Management: Supervise CNC operations, edge banding, assembly, pre-finish sanding, and finishing.
- Scheduling: Enforce production schedules to meet strict project deadlines.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality control and ensure all products comply with technical specifications.
- Materials Management: Assist in overseeing inventory and procurement to ensure timely acquisition of resources.
- Technical Oversight: Implement shop and fabrication drawings with precision.
- Staff Development: Mentor and train staff to boost skill levels and uphold safety.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all production equipment is properly maintained, serviced, and available for uninterrupted operations.
- Hands-On Leadership: Must be able and willing to actively participate in any production station to ensure quality standards and timelines are met. This role requires a hands-on approach to oversee and assist with all aspects of the production line, from CNC operations to finishing, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and direct problem-solving.
- Problem Solving: Address production or installation issues proactively.
Requirements:
- Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Experience: At least 5 years in millwork or a related field, with significant leadership experience in production environments.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in CNC operations, edge banding, assembling, and finishing.
- Project Management: Skilled at managing multiple projects efficiently under tight deadlines.
