About the position:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Operations Lead and Process Improvement Specialist to take charge of our operations. This role combines hands-on production work with strategic process development. The ideal candidate is not only proficient in manufacturing but also excels in optimizing processes, embracing new technologies, and leading teams to achieve operational excellence. Candidates should possess strong mechanical aptitude and a deep curiosity about how things function and operate.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Assume accountability for all operational aspects as per the EOS framework.
- Oversee daily production activities, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met.
- Lead and mentor the production team, fostering a collaborative and problem-solving environment.
Hands-On Production:
- Actively participate in the production process, including crafting coffee mugs.
- Utilize excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to maintain high production standards.
- Train team members on production techniques and best practices.
Process Development and Improvement:
- Analyze current processes to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency.
- Develop and implement standardized procedures and workflows.
- Monitor process performance and adjust strategies as necessary for continuous improvement.
Team Collaboration and Problem-Solving:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges.
- Assist team members in solving problems, providing guidance, and sharing expertise.
- Promote a culture of open communication, continuous learning, and mutual support.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Proven experience in an operations leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Hands-on production experience, preferably with products requiring manual craftsmanship.
- Demonstrated success in process development and implementing efficiency improvements.
Skills:
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for building innovative solutions.
- Proficient in adopting and integrating new technologies and automation into existing processes.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Leadership skills with experience in team building and mentoring.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
