Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for an IT Project Manager - Public Services. Local client is pursuing an RFP for the Project Management Office (PMO) Services to the Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Child Support Services in Georgia. DHS is undertaking an initiative to modernize the child support case management system. DCSS is a state-administered and operated child support program consisting of 55 local offices.
DCSS performs daily child support case management. As of 9/30/2022, the $TARS system contains approximately 330,000 active child support cases. In Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2022 DCSS distributed $709,435,396 on IV-D cases
The Support, Tracking, Accounting, and Reporting System ($TARS) is the case management system for DCSS. The $TARS system is comprised of .NET, ASP, VB, SQL Server, Host Integration Server and DB2 components. The $TARS ecosystem includes a data warehouse that serves as a centralized hub that houses key performance
indicators (KPIs) and reports to provide insight into operational and
strategic objectives. The DCSS System Modernization Project involves replacing the $TARS system with a Hybrid Enhancement solution which involves using a Platform-based solution. This is a full replacement of the front-end case management system for users and the back-end database, batch systems and servers.
The IT Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the modernization project in the public services sector, developing project plans, managing project timelines, and ensuring successful project delivery. The estimated contract length is two years and begins in January 2025.
Qualifications
- Analytical Skills, Program Management, and Information Technology expertise
- Strong Communication and Project Planning skills
- Ability to effectively manage project budgets and resources
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) is required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
- Previous experience in public services IT projects is a necessity
