Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic leader to join our team. This position will offer senior-level oversight and direction for HIM, Coding, and CDI operations, leading a team of 150 to 250 professionals. The Vice President will be essential in developing and implementing policies and procedures that impact these areas. Furthermore, this executive will drive the successful integration of EMR systems and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and support financial viability.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee coding and auditing efforts to maintain compliance and performance standards.
- Manage a comprehensive Data Integrity initiative for clinical documentation quality.
- Lead initiatives to improve processes and address challenges in CDI programs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to establish robust documentation standards.
- Direct the daily functions of HIM, Coding, and CDI teams in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Supervise centralized teams for transcription, coding, and documentation management.
- Engage with finance leaders and other stakeholders to promote best practices.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years in healthcare, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity overseeing mid-revenue cycle functions in a complex health environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (RHIA or BSN) required; MBA or MHA is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare IT systems, HIPAA, CMS regulations, and coding classification systems (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT-4).
