INEOS was founded in 1998 and is one of the largest chemical companies in the world with about 25,000 employees globally. When joining INEOS, you join a large company that offers development opportunities through project and hands-on experience. You join a de-centralized structure that drives agility and autonomy within each business but with the resources of INEOS. INEOS values safety, challenges, creativity, ownership, manners, and spirit.
INEOS KOH is a leading producer of potassium-based chemicals in North America and a strategically located producer of chlorine. It safely and efficiently produces these by the membrane process: KCl salt is electrolytically converted to KOH and Cl2 by the application of electricity in INEOS membrane electrolyzers. The site employs about 100 people mostly located at the site in Ashtabula, Ohio while some leadership & support functions are based out of the INEOS Enterprises office in Columbus, Ohio.
The Reliability Engineer works closely with peers in Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and SHE to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and effective operations of the plant.
The jobholder is expected to plan and deliver the mechanical and civil engineering activities for the Ashtabula Site to ensure that both external legal requirements and internal INEOS Enterprises standards are adhered to and that the current and future targets for asset condition and reliability are achieved. The job holder shall be appointed as the Asset Engineer as defined in the INEOS Enterprises SHE & Engineering Requirements.
Key figures:
Specifically, the jobholder focuses on the following functional accountabilities:
Engineering Standard Maintenance:
Maintain plant mechanical and civil engineering standards to comply with defined statutory and INEOS standards.
Full understanding and implementation of relevant legal requirements, codes, and engineering standards / processes
Maintain list of coded vessels and associated documentation.
Ensure technical guidance for repair plans/designs meets local, national, and INEOS standards.
Key point of contact for regulatory bodies related to equipment design and codes.
Management of the Reliability/Mechanical Integrity Program:
Define, implement, and manage programs to ensure assets and protective systems are maintained.
Maintain an updated list of critical assets and protective systems.
Ensure inspection regimens for critical assets and protective systems are defined and functioning as intended.
Evaluate and implement inspection findings to continuously improve maintenance of assets.
Asset Performance, Maintenance, and Reliability (Asset Engineer):
Define and implement asset maintenance programs and procedures to maintain or improve asset condition and performance as well as develop plans to improve equipment reliability.
Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs related to reliability and mechanical integrity.
Work with the operations and maintenance teams to fully understand breakdown issues and to support development of equipment-specific policies and design changes to improve reliability.
Execute an annual review of asset conditions for the purposes of maintaining an asset life plan.
Performance indicators: Overdue process safety engineering inspection (IGGN08 Exco & non-Exco), Number of overdue inspections, number of overdue inspection recommendations.
