Compliance Consultant

Job Summary
This position is to fill a temporary need for 3-6 months, with the potential for extension, supporting Saint-Gobain’s Compliance team and will not work directly for the Company, but will be hired through a temporary agency. The Compliance Consultant will work along side Saint-Gobain North America’s Compliance Team to ensure the company’s compliance program is adhering to all relevant laws, ethical standards, and policies. This includes staying abreast of developments and ensuring that key personnel are in possession of necessary information. The Compliance Consultant should possess excellent judgment with the ability to assess and communicate risks to business partners in a clear and actionable way. The ideal candidate should also be able to learn and understand a highly matrixed organization to help create solutions that are practical for the business and align with company procedures. They must also be able to balance proactive projects with reacting to new issues quickly and efficiently.
The Compliance Consultant will assist with program in the following ways:
- Drafting policies based on updates to the law.
- Drafting trainings based on policies.
- Implementing change management strategy concerning updated policies and trainings.
- Drafting communications to inform employees about various legal or policy requirements.
- Respond to requests from the business regarding compliance-related inquiries.
- Review and respond to conflicts of interest disclosures.
- Review and respond to policy exception requests regarding gifts and entertainment.
- Assist with developing and implementing tools/programming/training/communications that promote a culture of ethics and compliance that ensures that employees speak up about concerns and have a strong understanding of the Ethics and Compliance Program; develop innovative approaches to training to encourage employee engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5-8 years experience working as a compliance specialist/manager or in a similar position is required
- Proficiency in monitoring industry trends, laws, and regulations
- Outstanding analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Strong ability to think strategically to resolve matters effectively and efficiently and to build collaborative relationships with business leaders and HR, while managing shifting priorities
- Proven ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and function well under pressure in order quickly and effectively prioritize resources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the business
- Proficiency in building slide decks for trainings and leadership meetings
- Experience with Excel and Tableau is a plus
- Willing to learn how to develop and modify sections of intranet site
