We are seeking Platform Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One’s most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices.
General Responsbilties:
Participate in design, build, and test activities related to new WiFi deployments, network upgrades, and technology/platform evaluations.
Create technical design documents and implementation plans.
Work with the security organization to assess exposure, identify mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with all relevant security configuration standards.
Provide escalation/oncall support to the wireless network operations team.
Provide input to enterprise network design standards and maintain documentation.
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, Ruby and Go, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 6 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)
At least 4 years of experience with AWS
At least 2 years of team leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep understanding of WLAN technologies, network management, and security, including 802.11 b/g/n/ac standards and in
dustry best practices.
Experience implementing high-density WiFi solutions
Fundamental knowledge of security protocols and authentication (WPA2, EAP-TLS, 802.1x, AAA)
3+ years of DevOps Engineering experience
2+ experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby)
2+ Experience with deploying clustered web services
2+ years experience working within Agile Development Practices
