Regulatory Engineer
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our client's spectrum coordination efforts with a range of federal and international entities. You will represent the company in ITU study groups, Regional Telecommunications Organizations, and other regulatory bodies, driving strategies to secure and optimize the use of radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits. Close collaboration with the client’s satellite, product, coordination, and legal teams will be essential to ensure that spectrum and regulatory issues align with system objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate coordination on spectrum matters with various federal and international entities.
- Actively participate in ITU study groups, Regional Telecommunications Organizations, and other regulatory bodies to support strategies that safeguard and advance the use of radio frequency spectrum and satellite orbits.
- Collaborate with satellite, product, coordination, and legal teams to provide clear guidance on spectrum and regulatory considerations in relation to system goals.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a regulatory environment.
- Solid understanding of communications satellite architectures, link budgets, orbital mechanics, and key regulatory bodies such as the ITU and FCC.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for addressing policy and complex technical challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate tradeoffs, risks, and opportunities.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, systems, or aerospace engineering.
- Compliance with U.S. Government space technology export regulations (U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or other protected status required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in satellite regulation is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the RNSS frequency band is a plus.
