A leading Oil & Gas technology company is seeking a Process Automation Engineer to join its Research & Lab Scale Automation team.

Job Summary: The role focuses on providing automation solutions for research and development laboratories and pilot plants, ensuring efficient data acquisition and analysis systems. This is an on-site position based in Clinton, NJ with a one-year contract, likely to be extended based on project needs, with a project duration running until 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate new research laboratory bench-scale and pilot plant units.
- Define requirements for the design, development, and implementation of data acquisition and analysis systems.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance existing laboratory automation systems.
- Collaborate with researchers, technical support teams, and IT to deliver complete automation solutions.
- Identify and implement work process improvements in the lab environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical), or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience working with LabVIEW and Actor Framework.
- Proficient in process control systems, application development environments, and relational databases.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Knowledge of process/industrial controls and instrumentation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in process control within manufacturing or engineering sectors.
- Familiarity with Multivariable Predictive Control systems (e.g., AspenTech DMC, Honeywell RMPCT) and Real-time Optimizers (e.g., RoMeo).
- Strong programming skills (Visual Basic, etc.) and technical quality assurance.
- Ability to mentor and lead early-career professionals.
- Flexibility to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
